Hello, I am Ardy!
I have always been challenged by life. Looking at possibilities for growth and so I strife to make the best of it. My passions in life are what leads me. Art, beauty, colour and love for people are some of them.
Not only am I led by my gut feeling but by all the signs I get on my path. Through reading, seeing and relating to people I meet.
So it happens that I came to paint, because I became interested in art. That started in Indonesia, especially Java and Bali, places that have rich creative cultures.
When I moved to Malaysia in 2002 I could not find that rich diversity so I decided to start painting myself. Ten years later I staged my first exhibition. After Malaysia my husband and I moved to Myanmar. A place teeming with colour and happy vibes, such an inspiring playground for an artist. I only had to go out on the streets of Yangon.
After having lived in Asia for 24 years, we were directed back to our home country and settled in Hilversum. There I joined an artist association and was able to ground my practice in my home country. Through Art Hilversum I got the first opportunity to exhibit in the Netherlands.
I hope you will meet my love for life in my art. I express my deep emotions and soulful musings in my creations. This helps me deal with more difficult times, like the Corona period, and resettling in a country that has changed a lot. For me life is an art and art is life.
