Rooting
This series was made when I had just settled in Hilversum in the second half of 2021. The Corona
epidemic isolated me as a newcomer even more. I could cheer myself up by diving into creativity and letting my soul speak it. It said I needed to root, to feel safe, to cheer up and to feel comfortable in my space.
I Love Me More
While making it I realized that I would meet my own love in others, as they are always a reflection of us. If I learn to love myself more, I will be loved more as well. The painting “I love me more” is a happy reflection of me when I receive full abundance. The other two works support me while I am getting there.
Dreaming Of Africa
I fully immersed myself in making this new series. It was all about shape, color and texture. Somehow some animal shapes appeared. The turquoise colour is a colour of old wisdom and the layers make it more soulful and meditative.
Abstracts
This diptych I made while working at the Refugee Council in Hilversum and it’s about a journey of two people. How one needed to flee and so they were apart for a long time. They finally got together again in Hilversum. Being together and safe did not mean their hardship ended here.
